Does budget play an important role in brand advertising?

As a brand owner you have to create an impression about your product/service on your customers’ mind, inform them about its features/benefits and finally encourage them to adopt/buy it. In all these, what is important is a particular channel or medium that makes your brand message accessible by customers. Advertising plays the sole role of communicating the brand message to target customers through a reachable channel or medium. Television Advertising, Radio Advertising, Print Advertising, Outdoor Advertising- all these are channels of delivering a brand message to customers. Each media vehicle plays significant roles while conveying the brand message through an advertising campaign.


Advertising is not just meant for brands. Services, ideas, events and even causes are advertised through various channels or mediums. Sometimes, advertising is also used as an important tool by the Government to handle a chaotic situation by spreading news of good will and peace. From the non- profit organizations to the commercialized firms, advertising plays a significant role to convey the relevant message to the target groups. From the perspective of Indian society, advertising provides multiple benefits to customers as a source of information as well as entertainment. Indian brand commercials are quite entertaining and informative by nature.

Brand owners spend heavily to launch advertising campaigns. From the conceptualization of the brand message to the final launch of the advertisement, any advertising campaign requires step by step procedures. The first priority of every ad campaign however is to decide the brand message i.e. what is to be communicated to the target audiences? Deciding the advertising budget, media and launch-time of the campaign are also equally important. Budget is one of the main concerns while launching an ad campaign of a brand. With a fat budget, there is no restraint on the advertiser to communicate his brand message in multiple channels. With a low budget, the advertiser can opt for cost effective mediums to reach out to customers. All in all, it has been rightly stated that budget plays an important role in any advertising campaign.
